About
The Brissenden Trust provides funding to benefit local people in and around Tenterden in Kent.
We are proud to have helped create a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of people.
Since we were founded in 2017, we have given more than £100,000 in funding to over 50 organisations whose projects have helped hundreds of people.
These are just a handful of the organisations we are proud to have supported
Our story
The Brissenden Trust was founded on a legacy gift in the will of Hilda Harriet Brissenden, who bequeathed her home, Beacon Oak House in Tenterden, to become sheltered accommodation for the elderly in need. It provided 40 years of invaluable support to local elderly, but in 2017 became impractical to run. The property was sold, and the proceeds were used to create the Brissenden Trust.
The name of the trust honours our heritage, and our logo is inspired by the roses that grew in the garden of Beacon Oak House.
We are a dedicated group of Trustees running the trust and managing funding applications. We each have professional backgrounds and live in Tenterden & St Michaels. We have a shared desire to support our local community to thrive and flourish.
Our aim is to make it as easy as possible to help local organisations and individuals get the funding they need to realise their projects.
We’re here to help. Get in touch if you have any questions.
